Right time or age is one of the questions young people do
ask when it comes to dating. The chemistry reaction of the body is becoming
spontaneous as their bodies develop. The ladies are now attracted
to guys why the same is also true for guys. This is because of the impulses
or strong emotion that is being produced in their body. So it is not out of
place for young folks to ask questions like “when is the right time to start
dating?” It is a sign of body maturity or body awareness. Everybody at one point or
the other has been at this stage.
Moreover, youths must be educated at every point of their
maturity stage, so as to assist them in making the right decision. Life is in phases;
therefore, you must wait for the right time to start a courtship. Hmm…! Courtship?
Why not dating? The question is on dating why did you change it to courtship?
There is a difference between courtship and dating. Although, courting and
dating are used interchangeably by some people.
Courtship vs. Dating
According to Anthony Buono, “Marriage is not in view in dating and some believe it is a form of
entertainment, something to do with one’s free time. Courtship, on the other
hand, absolutely does have marriage in mind”
“Dating begins with
romantic interest and curiosity as a foundation. It is driven by feelings and
impulse. Live in the moment
mentality. It doesn’t see anything wrong with letting crushes and short
term relationships distract you from school or other opportunities that can
prepare you for the responsibilities of adult life. Courtship begins with
friendship and trust as a foundation. It is driven by rational thinking and study.
It waits until maturity and life preparedness is reached before pursuing a
serious relationship with the opposite sex.”
Do you have marriage
in view?
If your answer is yes, it is the right time to start a
courtship. But if marriage is not in your mind, don’t start any kind of romantic
relationship. Going into a relationship requires maturity and life preparedness.
Maturity
Maturity is the ability to respond to the
environment in an appropriate manner. This response is generally learned rather
than instinctive. There are three key areas of maturity: emotional,
financial and social.
Emotional Maturity
Emotional
maturity refers to your ability to understand, and manage, your emotion. Emotional maturity enables you to create the life you desire. A
life filled with happiness and fulfillment.
Social maturity
Social
maturity involves learning to properly relate to acquaintances, family,
neighbors, friends, and intimate relationships.
Financial
maturity
Financial
Maturity is a combination of four elements:
- The need to
educate yourself in the areas of personal finance.
- You need to get
a very firm understanding of your total expenses that are required to
support your lifestyle. How much is “enough” to save and accumulate for
financial independence is directly dependent on how much you spend.
- Exercise the
discipline to stick to our plan.
- You need to have
a healthy relationship with money.
Are
you prepared?
Preparation should precede any journey you
may want to embark on. Abraham Lincoln said, “Give me six hours to chop
down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.” Equip yourself with adequate information on a
relationship before going into it. There is a tendency you will mess up your relationship
if you fail to prepare adequately.
