In finding love, I think it's important to be patient. In being in a relationship, I think it's important to be honest, to communicate, to respect and trust, and to strive to give more than you take ~~Kina Grannis

A Relationship is a state of connectedness or a state of mutual dealings. Human beings are created to relate and not to isolate. I have discovered that great and successful people understood the power of relationship and they banked on it to get results. Swami Vivekananda said “Relationships are more important than life, but it is important for those relationships to have life in them” According to an article published by the University of Minnesota “healthy relationships are a vital component of health and wellbeing. There is compelling evidence that strong relationships contribute to a long, healthy, and happy life. Conversely, the health risks from being alone or isolated in one's life are comparable to the risks associated with cigarette smoking, blood pressure, and obesity”. The importance of right relationship can’t be overemphasized. In other to get the best out of a relationship you must find and nurture the right relationship.

How to find the right relationship:

Goal setting

Your goal in life can determine who will cross your path in life. People that don't share in your dream will leave on their own accord because they are a distraction. Goal setting will help you to filter out people that are not worthy to be in your life. For instance, in a marital relationship, there will be a chaos if the goal and aspiration of couples do not align. James Cash Penney believes the best teamwork comes from men who are working independently toward one goal in unison. This means that your goal is one of the determining factors to find the right relationship.

Be valuable and lovable

People of like values easily connect because they have a common ground. You must make a personal effort to develop yourself: nobody wants a liability. Moreover, being lovable makes you attract people easily because people like being around someone they are secured with and lively. People with this attribute are never boring: they are gifted in creating an enjoyable environment. I have discovered that people don’t just connect with you until they see how valuable and lovable you are.

Seek and be ready to connect

Whatsoever you look for is what you will find. People don’t just come to your life by default you have to make conscious effort to locate them. In your search, there are some values or attributes that you look out for that will assist you to find the right partner or people: their belief system, goals, aspiration, readiness to share ideas etc. These attributes are like a compass that will navigate you to find the right relationship.

How to nurture the right relationship

Be ready to share

A relationship is a mutual benefit and not a one-way affair; the two of you must be ready to share. Moreover, you must be ready to share more than what you have received. People that hoard like to receive than to give: they are always collecting without having any input. It is important to know that it is honorable to give than to receive. So try to share what you have and your relationship will experience growth.

Communication
Communication is the life line of any relationship. It accelerates the growth of relationships. You can’t get the best out of a relationship if your relationship lacks effective communication. For communication to be effective you and your partner must be ready to listen and speak.

Commitment

You mind will always be where your treasures are. Your steadfast fixity of purpose will help your relationship to develop. Anything you are not committed to can’t work out well.

Are you lazy?
A lazy man can’t have a healthy relationship because he can’t put up with the demands of it.

Any relationship that makes you feel insecure, lower your self-esteem, makes life miserable for you and take advantage of you isn’t a right relationship for you.
